Boat Reviews By Owners

1985 -- 24' 0" BAYLINER

Model: 2455 Ciera

Cockpit: I love that you can fold up the rear seating as it provides an uncluttered spacious cockpit for fishing. When more people come aboard simply flip the seat down.

Cabin: The cabin is very spacious and airy for a 24 footer. It has large slanted windows in the front of the cabin that newer boats don't have to achieve a sleeker look. Very open, mid cabin sleeps two and two in the vee berth.

Construction: The hull seems to be very solid and well built. The interior seems not to have the quality of fit and finish that some of Bayliners competitors have, but bayliners cabins do seem to be more spacious when you compare it to a boat of the same length and different manufacter.

Handling: Hull seems to be built for efficiency and not for rough water. Seems pretty wobbly while taking seas broadside. Have had it in 6-8ft steep waves. It got me home, but not fun.

Engine Room: Just had a new 305 5.0 220hp motor installed. Quick out of the hole. Cruises very economically at 26mph with a top speed of 37mph with usually a-lot of fuel and stuff with 3to 4 people on board.

General Comments: I use this boat on a very large lake for fishing, tubing, exploring, and overnighting. If overnighting 2 is ideal. A great way to enjoy cabin cruising and a low low price. These boats are easy to find and are usually less than 10 grand. What a value for what you can do with it. I trailer it with a Grand Cherokee, but not far. A typical full size pickup would have no problem.
