Boat Reviews By Owners

1999 -- 27' 0" BOSTON WHALER

Model: Outrage

Cockpit: Well though-out fold-up transom seat. Transom door leads to good-size platform and folding ladder which can be pulled down from the water.

Cabin:

Construction: Very well built, ultra-thick cored hull, but salt/fresh water pumps, bilge pumps, oil tanks, plumbing, wiring, difficult to get to for repairs. Had a chance to how the 200 gal aluminum fuel tank is installed (in another boat that was taken apart) and it is top-notch.

Handling: Very seaworthy whether in head seas, beam seas, or running downseas. Tracks very well. In extreme seas, we slow down to 12 knots, which I like to call 4x4 mode, as she will go anywhere.

Engine Room: Carburetted 250 hp counter-rotating Johnsons; they always start. Props are 21" pitch. We do 20-21 knots at 3,000 rpm fully loaded (full fuel tank weights 1,200 lbs).

General Comments: Fishing, snorkeling, day trips to Culebra and Vieques. This is a safe family boat
