Boat Reviews By Owners

2002 -- 23' 10" SCOUT

Model: 240 Bayscout

Cockpit: Great fishing features. It has two baitwells and a huge release well. I like the lockable rod lockers (holds 8-rods). Self drainging ports can take on water if release well is filled or have more than two adults on the stern.

Cabin: Console has amble room for a portable head and other gear.

Construction: Hull has several cracks. One goes through the glass due to void in the foam. Stress cracks on corners of liner. Scout is very supportive at getting it repair. Even covered areas that were not under warranty.

Handling: Handles fine in Atlantic up to 2' maybe 3'.

Engine Room: 200 HPDI Yamaha. 39 mph max. Would have been better off with a 225 4-stroke.

General Comments: She is best for inshore fishing and some nearshore on good days. I would consider a Scout offshore boat if I could afford it. I am very impress with their stance behind their products.
