Boat Reviews By Owners
1994 -- 25' 6" SEACAT
Cockpit: We have the center console, lots of room and two big 200 qt storage hatches, a 6.5 ft fish hold, and two 3x3 storage bins plus a large anchor locker.
Construction: Our 10 year hull has some cosmetic issues, nothing structural yet, the factory of seacats had problems laying enough fiberglass at the leading sponson edge and this created small holes in the gelcoat there from wear and tear, nothing that would leak. I fixed them myself after the first 3 years of ownership. They used wood in the battery boxes, and this will eventually rot. The rest of the hull is built like a Mako.
Handling: Best aspect, the boat rides great in all sea conditions, it has less lateral instability than the WorldCat, I fish that hull plenty also. Not a speed boat, but a great marathon runner.
Engine Room: 135 merc 2 strokes, still running strong, these are blocks rated to 200hp so they never struggle even a WOT. Top end is 45 mph loaded.
General Comments: Good for grouper digging or diving, the motors are far apart and we have a ladder with walkway between them.
