Boat Reviews By Owners

2003 -- 27' 10" CAPE HORN

Model: center console

Cockpit: The cockpit is well designed with ample room to fish.

Construction: The boat is solidly built, however, in my opinion there is way too much weight forward, and the design of the hull is flawed. this will will beat you to death in any sea over 3 feet. Pound and drown is the motto of this boat.

Handling: This boat handles poorly in following seas due to the design and heaviness of the bow. The boat can be tricky to handle and a bit unnerving when driving in following seaes.

Engine Room: twin f-225

General Comments: This boat is best suited for coastal fishing on calm days, otherwise, it will hurt you. An odd thing about my boat is that it was 400 pounds heavier on the port side. It really listed to port at the dock considering all gear loaded equally port and stbd. My experience has been, that if you really want a Cape Horn, the 24 is the way to go.
