Boat Reviews By Owners

1977 -- 24' 10" CAPE DORY

Model: 25' Sloop

Cockpit: Can handle two adults o.k. Any more and it's tight. Good visibility w/o dodger.

Cabin: No standing head room but comfy and tight. Vee berth difficult to gain access to but cabin settees good for sleeping.

Construction: Hull and deck appear to be about 1 1/4" thick. Very solid, well built boat.

Handling: Handles fine and is very forgiving. Very seaworthy as she has sailed to Alaska from Seattle and down to San Diego.

Engine Room: 2002 Honda 5 hp, 4 stroke, long shaft gets her up to 5 knots eventually. New thruster plates should kick up fuel economy. Downside is engine sits in well at transom so is always in water but really hasn't presented any major issues. I just changed her anode after 5 months.

General Comments: Great day or weekend sailboat. Would be a bit tight for lengthy voyages but is doable.
