Boat Reviews By Owners

2002 -- 23' 4" MONTEREY

Model: 228 SS

Cockpit: The cockpit is ample, the boat has great visability with the pop up bolster seats for both the driver and side passenger. I would'nt consider it a great fishing boat but for skiing ,wakeboarding or just a day out it is a great boat.

Construction: I drove both Cobalt and Chapperal.I felt that the Monterey handled chop the best.My boat is very solid. The foam filled hull and hull design has everything to do with that.

Handling: The boats handleing is another thing that sold me. It tracks well and turns great even at high speeds.I also use the boat in some choppy waters and it is hard to tell your in chop cause it absorbs the wakes.

Engine Room: 5.7 MPI 315 HP v-8 Volvo.I have the single prop.Might have gone with the DP .But the dealer did not have one to test drive,I am happy overall with the power.

General Comments: I do love my boat and would recommend a Monterey to anyone who is looking for a boat.I think that people don't really know what a great boat Monterey is.I bought a bowrider for days on the lake. It has a huge sundeck pad for my wife and my 4 year old son to layout on and play.
