Boat Reviews By Owners
1978 -- 27' 0" HERITAGE MARINE
Model: Nor'Sea 27 - Aft Cockpit
Cockpit: Safe 6' x 6' cockpit with small footwell and good drainage for offshore work.
Cabin: 2 quarterberths under cockpit. Sleeps 4 easily could sleep 8 (with 2 in cockpit) Lots of room for a boat this size. 6' 1" standing headroom.
Construction: EXTREMELY well built boat! No problem areas. 7 solid bronze opening portholes. 2 Hatches. Good ventilation.
Handling: Handles well under both sail and power. large rudder hung aft on massive pintles/gudgeons. Tiller steering for better "feel". This boat has no through hulls below the waterline and has never had an inboard!
Engine Room: The boat is easily powered at hull speed (6 knots) with my Yamaha 9.9 Hi-Thrust 4-stroke.
General Comments: I love this boat and can find very few boats that are built to anywhere near the standards that the Nor'Sea is. I plan on cruising the Caribbean with my family of 4 so this boat MAY be too small. This boat is designed to be trailerable and there have been numerous circumnavigations with Nor'Sea 27 sailboats - a true, trilerable ocean cruiser!
