Boat Reviews By Owners

1985 -- 34' 0" SEA RAY

Model: 340 Express

Cockpit: This boat is an honest 34 foot long unlike the new ones that count the swim platform, pulpit, anchor and anything else hanging off the front and rear of the boat. This one is called a 340 which means 34 foot not 352 and then claim it's 41 foot like the guys do with the new ones. Plenty of room and nice beam with a deep dead rise makes a good riding and performing boat for most water and weather conditions. Nice size cockpit that allows room for your imagination, fishing, sunbathing or whatever else you desire.

Cabin: Island bed with walk around room. Nice size galley with plenty of counter top space with a designated dining area. Sea Ray could of made the head a little larger with a separate shower stall. Excellent overnighter for long weekends for family of 4.

Construction: At 23 years old the hull still has a nice shine and no cracks in the fiberglass and this boat is used year round. GPS top speed is 35 MPH with two 7.4 Mercs and can cruise economically at 25 MPH. Planes at 16 MPH. Outdated in many ways by todays standards but still has a lot of the comfort amenities.

Handling: Rides very well in choppy water and a very safe for coastal cruising. Easy to dock.

Engine Room: 7.4 Mercs. No problems as yet. They have over 1800 hours.

General Comments: Mainly used for extended weekends and summer vacation of just simply to get away.
