Boat Reviews By Owners

2006 -- 32' 0" CHAPARRAL

Model: 310 Signature

Cockpit: The cockpit on this boat is excellent. Helm seat large with fold-up front so you can stand and drive. Large port long bench to lay-out and enjoy the ride. U-shaped seating in back with large table and can be purchased with refrigerator. This boat has high quality thick foam seats that are deep so they are comfortable to sit in. The only thing I would change is elevating the helm seat about 2 inches as I am 5'8" and have to sit on a cushion to easily see over the bow. i looked at a number of 30-32 foot boats before getting this one and nobody designs a cockpit any better than Chaparral in my opion.

Cabin: Materials used in the cabin of high quality. There are some thing I would change. Front bed needs to be larger and width of the aft berth could be 8" wider if they would have used cushions for the back rest rather than built in ones. Remove the back cushion when you make up the bed in the back. I think the head needs to be larger too even if it means making the galley a little smaller. My wife and I are smaller so it not a problem but a big person it would be. The table and galley are of really high quality. Like the cockpit seating the seats are deep so comfortable to sit in. A lot of easily to get to storage too.

Construction: Chaparral uses the highest quality mass produced pleasure craft materials and equipment available. So let me explain what I mean. Much of the equipment manufactures that make thing for boats just don't make the stuff good. Bilge pumps, float switches, TVs, vacuum flush heads, ice makers, refrigerators, etc are mass produced and made a cheaply as they can. The hull, wiring, gelcoat, and quantity of stainless fixtures are great.

Handling: Handling is great. My boat is powered by twin Volve 5 liter fuel injected dual props and cruises at about 30 mph at 3500 rpm. Stable ride and good in ruff seas.

Engine Room: Twin Volve 5 liter fuel injected dual props.

General Comments: Use the boat for family cruising. We do a lot of boating and spend up to a week at a time on the boat with two boys 12 and 15.
