Boat Reviews By Owners

1985 -- 31' 0" HUNTER

Model: 31

Cockpit: Very comfortable. Fits 5 to 6 adults easily and has a hump at the transome that makes sailing on a heel comfortable. Visibility excellent. Squeezing arount the wheel is a bit tight.

Cabin: Excellent dinette for four. Stand up headroom throughout. Large after berth and V-berth. Galley comes with 2-burner stove and oven. Pressure H&C water. Great shower.

Construction: Well-fitted yacht with no upgrades necessary. Strong construction makes one feel secure in any kind of sea.

Handling: I have been up the coast of Washington in 20-foot swells and she surfed them well. Sailed down Straights of Juan de Fuca in a stong gale and never had an anxious moment other than maneuvering around a freighter.

Engine Room: The Yahnmar 2GM is adequate but the boat is not over-powered. Fuel economy is excellent, about 1/2 gal per hour at close to hull speed. Very reliable engine.

General Comments: I have cruised on the Hunter for up to three weeks with friends and never felt clostraphobic. The water supply must be conserved as tankage is limited. Short showers.
