2001 -- 31' 6" SEA RAY
Model: 290 amberjack
Cockpit: huge nice dash with wood lots of electronic space very good visibility not to good for fishing but vey comfortable and elegant.
Cabin: the berths are a little small and are hard to sleep on for more than a weekend but no problems with finish or peeling anything. kitchen stoves rattles a little when planing but you put a plastic bag in it and it goes away. extremely spacious for 29 footer.
Construction: this boat is built very well the gel coat is better than brad new after 6 years and have had no leaks or squeaks at all. does pound a little in 3 footers
Handling: this boat is extremely easy to dock with twin v drives but is very sluggish while planing but cruises at 22 3500 rpm has a very nice ride.
Engine Room: engines are scrap. if you are going to buy an amberjack get the deisels these mercurys ingested water through the exhaust manifold after shitty paper gasget disinergrated. i had to replace a whole motor and rebuild a head after 160 hours and 3 years. but trannys and v drives are rock solid. have never had ne problem with them.
General Comments: this is a really nice boat to go sleep over or hang out in but not an offshore fishing machine its great for fishing for fluke and stuff but not a tuna boat.
