Boat Reviews By Owners
1991 -- 20' 0" MAKO
Cockpit: On my particular boat my only design complaint is the seating. However, I know that in newer models, Mako addressed this problem by adding transom seats.
Also, on the 1991 model there is only a 60 gallon gas tank....on newer models there is a 100 gallon gas tank.
Cabin: No cabin.....
Construction: Overall, the boat is well constructed. The finish work is okay (rattling hatches, etc.)...but hey it is a fishing boat.
Handling: It handles the swells well but you'll get a bit wet when the wind & chop picks up. You'll need to trim-up the motor to stay as dry as possible.
A very seaworthy boat.
Engine Room: Powered by a 1992 200hp Yamaha. I could not imagine a smaller or bigger motor on this boat. The 200 Yamaha seems to be the perfect match. She gets up out of the hole fast and will do 42mph at 5400 rpm with a 19 degree prop and the engine trimed way up.She'll lose prop bite on hard turns.
General Comments: I like the boat a lot, it is perfect to go fishing with some friends, head out to a remote beach or just cruise around the harbor.
